Hello! I hope everybody had a great holiday season and that this new year is good for you.
I took a break for a few weeks from blogging, and it was nice but I did miss it. I found a job in Daegu with the Korea Poly School. I’m excited to see how this hakwon compares to Avalon. Unlike Avalon and other hakwons, KPS operates from 9:30 am-7:30 pm, and teaching kindergarten and elementary kids (and maybe middle school). It’s a long day, but I’m excited to be working more of a “normal” hours.
On Tuesday this week, I had to run to Fukuoka, Japan to get my new E-2 Visa. That was a fun, but somewhat hectic trip. I had to rush from the airport to the Korean consulate, fill out a visa application form and submit it along with my passport before 11:30 am. I arrived and got there around 11 am. I spent the rest of the day exploring the area around my hotel. The nice thing about my visa run, is that it’s taken care of by your employer. I had a recruiter who was helping me a lot while I was preparing for my trip and giving me information when I needed it. I picked up my passport with my new visa the next day (Wednesday) and fly back to Korea (both flights were from and to Busan) Wednesday night. It’s a short, 40-minute flight both ways, but it’s nice to be back in Korea with a new job.
