I try to make use technology in my classroom when possible. How about you?

Technology has become dominant in our lives, especially in secondary education. As a teacher, I struggle to see the benefits of students using technology in classrooms. Information, content and engagement is effected due to use of students technology use… Smart phones, tablets, laptops get in the way. Now students don’t receive laptops in year 9, which is great, however schools choose to go by the policy, ‘bring your own device’ encouraging the use for technology. I suppose I can see benefits, such as keeping up to-date with industry standards. Animation, Music, Art, Film, Fashion Design, Architecture… Etc has turned digital. Its keeping today’s youth and older generation up to scratch with whats “new”. Accessibility is better and cheaper also. However, one thing I struggle to see is students retaining knowledge. The reliance on Google and computers have been great, but overly relied upon. As I have seen the positives… during school…
