Classroom Management and the principles of HOPE

As an intern teacher in the physical education department, I am daily exposed to the classroom management strategies of one or more teachers.  My classes usually take place in the gym across from another PE class.  I am also required to organize observations of teachers in different settings to diversify my exposure to teaching strategies.

As a reflection on HOPE principle H3 “Honor the classroom/school community as a milieu for learning”, I chose to focus on the classroom management strategies of one of the language arts teachers at my school. The strategies a teacher uses to run a safe and effective class session are the essence of classroom management.  This relates to Hope principle H3 because an effective teacher’s classroom will be an optimal environment for learning.
