In this week’s post we are going to examine feedback. It’s an important part of every lesson we teach and we may often times do it without thinking about it. Every time we say “Good job,” or correct an error we are giving feedback. While we may not think about how we give feedback, we can demotivate a student if we do it poorly, so it should be given some consideration when we plan our lessons. In this post we’ll look at the importance of giving both positive and negative feedback, instant versus delayed correction and oral versus written feedback.
When we are giving feedback, it’s always best to tell the student something they’ve done well. Positive feedback is great for motivating students to continue learning and wanting to achieve more. Sometimes it may be as simple as saying “Good job!” when a student gives us a correct answer. You…
