Paper Mache Fun

Today, we had the students start a paper mache project.

We soaked paper egg cartons in water for a day, and then blew up balloons for the kids to put the goop around.

We found out that the egg carton-water goop won’t stick as well by itself, so we added flour.

We’ll try again tomorrow 🙂

  1. I once used a huge balloon and mixed flour and water together and used newspaper. It was a class project, so everyone worked on one together. It worked like a charmed. We put several coats on and let it dry. It was eventually painted like a Jack-o-lantern, filled with candy, and used as a piñata for a Halloween party.

    Good luck!!
